Boost your Hormones Naturally

Are you struggling with symptoms of PMS or do you have signs of hormone imbalance? Hormone imbalances can cause some major issues with your bodily systems. In order to bring the body back into balance, we have to focus on our endocrine health and not just the symptoms we struggle with.
Sugar and Wine
Endocrine disruptors, such as sugar and wine, can wreak havoc on our system. It causes additional stress to the body and leads to overworking it. Eliminating these stressors for a time can help the body recover.
In addition to increasing the stress load within your body, they can feed the bad bacteria in your gut. Sugar can feed the growth of yeast and candida and lead to digestion issues too. Consuming too much wine can lead to a disruption in your insulin levels and blood sugar, while also decreasing the effectiveness of your body’s natural detox systems.
By eliminating wine and sugar, it can lead to better balance in your body. This is just one step though and doing this alone will not eliminate your symptoms.
Better Sleep
Sleep is the best way for your body to recover from your day-to-day activities and any stressors you encounter in your day. Stress is a big part of our days and by getting proper sleep, it can work through those issues.
Not getting proper sleep leads to am imbalance in our endocrine system and leads to a negative impact to our health. Some of the more pressing issues from lack of sleep can be fatigue, sugar cravings, and weight gain due to a higher production of cortisol.
Make it a priority to get restful sleep for 6-8 hours a night to allow your body the rest it needs to recover and function optimally.
Balanced Diet
Cutting out processed foods can be difficult in this day. It is a convenient way of life in this busy society we live in but can lead to harmful effects on our health. By eating healthy, wholesome food and reducing the junk we eat, we can nourish our bodies properly. When we eat junk food, drink sodas, and other sugar-filled foods, it causes stress to our body and leads to inflammation. This leads to an imbalance in your endocrine system and throws your hormones out of order.
Eat plant-based more often, avoid white flour and other processed foods, and add in omega-3 rich foods. Including foods to nourish and support the liver is also a good idea to encourage your natural detox system to work properly.
Herbs
Using nature’s medicine to support our body is a great way to encourage a more natural way of life. Different herbs can support different functions. Always consult a professional before adding any herbs to your routine to ensure there is not a reaction to medications you may be on or even with each other.
Some examples of different herbs you can use include:
- Vitex to support your monthly cycle
- Holy basil and ashwagandha to support your adrenals and proper sleep.
- Evening primrose to support PMS symptoms.
Stress Levels
