About

Hi there, I’m Kayla — wife, mama to two lively little ones, and the heart behind Rooted at the Hearth on Etsy. Our home is filled with the joyful chaos of children and the playful energy of our three pups and chickens. You can often find us at the baseball fields if we aren’t at home or on a homeschool adventure!

My journey began in the realm of employee wellness, where I cultivated a deep appreciation for health and holistic living. However, I yearned for a deeper connection — one that intertwined our family’s daily life with the rhythms of nature and the comforts of home.

In 2014, I embarked on a path toward natural living, introducing essential oils into our routine. Despite initially lacking a green thumb, I embraced gardening, transforming our backyard into a space of growth and nourishment. This hands-on experience not only provided fresh produce but also became a teaching ground for our children, instilling in them a respect for nature and the value of self-sufficiency.

Our days are now enriched with homeschooling adventures, homemade meals crafted from scratch, and DIY projects that bring warmth and personality to our living space. I believe in the power of simple living, where faith, family, and the fruits of our labor come together to create a fulfilling life.

Through this blog, I aim to share our experiences, lessons learned, and the joys of a lifestyle rooted in intention and love. Whether you’re here for homeschooling resources, homemaking tips, or inspiration to embrace a more natural way of living, I’m delighted to have you join us on this journey.
